With a little preparation and knowledge of what to expect, the scan is usually a very relaxed experience.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/MRT5-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<h2>Before the MRI<\/h2>\n<div>\n<p>Before the exam, we\u2019ll start with a brief consultation. During this time, we\u2019ll discuss, among other things, whether you have any implants, a pacemaker, or other medical conditions. Afterward, please remove any jewelry, watches, keys, cell phones, and all other metal objects, as these can interfere with the strong magnetic field.<\/p>\n<p>Depending on what is being examined, you may need to remove some of your clothing or put on special examination gowns. In some cases, it may be necessary to be given or to take a contrast agent. This, too, is a routine and relaxed procedure.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h2>During the examination<\/h2>\n<div>\n<p>During the MRI, you will lie comfortably on an examination table the entire time, which is slowly moving into the scanner. It is important to remain as still as possible during the exam, as even small movements can affect image quality.<\/p>\n<p>While the MRI scanner is taking images, you will hear typical tapping and humming noises. These are completely normal and indicate that the machine is working properly. Although they are not excessively loud, you will, of course, be provided with earplugs or headphones to protect your hearing.<\/p>\n<p>Our team will keep an eye on you throughout the entire exam and will be in contact with you at all times via an intercom system. We will also provide you with an emergency call button.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2>The emergency call ball\u2014what is it?<\/h2>\n<div>\n<p>The so-called patient emergency call ball is a handy signal ball that responds to pressure and is held by the patient throughout the entire examination. Pressing it instantly sends a signal to the staff. If no sedative was administered, there are generally no restrictions.<\/p>\n<p>\nThe images obtained are then carefully evaluated by our specialists.
