Digital radiography

Detailed diagnostics provided with expertise and empathy

Diagnostics using digital radiography

Digital radiography is a versatile diagnostic tool that plays a central role in medicine. X-ray images can reveal blood vessels, organs, tissues, and cavities, which is essential for diagnosing many medical conditions. The comparatively low radiation exposure associated with digital radiography ensures that the physical strain on the patient during the examination is kept to a minimum.

Applications of digital radiography

  • Skull and sinus imaging
  • Thoracic and pulmonary imaging
  • Bone and joint imaging
  • Spinal imaging
  • Abdominal overview and renal imaging

Digital radiography vs. conventional X-rays

In both digital radiography and conventional X-ray diagnostics, parts of the body are exposed to X-rays to make different tissues visible. The difference lies in how the images are displayed. With digital radiography, the images are captured electronically and displayed on a computer, whereas with conventional radiography, X-ray film must be developed. As a result, digital X-ray images are available immediately and can be optimized afterward in terms of brightness, contrast, or magnification. In addition, digital X-ray images can be easily saved and shared with treating physicians.
